Myotherapy, also referred to as massage therapy, is the process of pressing pressing, or rubbing specific soft tissues or muscles in order to enhance their health and wellbeing. It is an extremely efficient method of manual therapy which involves holding either sliding or swiping, and then applying gentle pressure on the muscles ligaments, tendons and fascia. Many people believe that massage is just a superficial touch to relax and relieve tension, it is much more. Myotherapy targets specific regions, or "trigger" points, in the body. This helps to promote and sustain overall health, by reducing stress and fatigue by increasing the muscle tone and relaxation, stimulating lymphatic circulation, improving mood by reducing pain sensitivity, and easing muscle soreness.
